About the Bounties Network:

Bounties have existed for thousands of years as a tool to incentivize the completion of tasks; now the Bounties Network creates an open standard to manage bounties on all tasks, paying in any Ethereum token. We’re working to make it cheaper and easier to outsource work to the free market, so organizations can organize dynamically around what needs to get done. Visit for more details.

About the Role

As a designer on the Bounties Network team, you will leverage your user-centered design expertise to craft simple, efficient, and engaging experiences for our users.

The blockchain presents a myriad of new UX challenges. Currently, the majority of blockchain products are built for the initiated. Many users are unfamiliar with the patterns, concepts, function, and strengths of blockchain technology. A gap exists between the uninitiated/green blockchain user and the benefits that the blockchain provides. Your job as a designer of the Bounties Network will be to take on some of these challenges and to bridge this gap.

How can we create the smoothest experience possible for those unfamiliar to the space? How can we communicate its value? How can we introduce new concepts and functionality in ways that don’t deter new and unfamiliar users? For Bounties users, how do we create and maintain a frictionless experience so that people all over the world can spend less time creating and looking for bounties, and more time getting work done? These are some of the challenges that you’ll face as you help us to design and build the Bounties Network.

On the Bounties Network team, you’ll enjoy an inclusive and open culture, centered around the constant exchange of meaningful and constructive critique. We are always iterating and improving our work, our culture, and ourselves. As a designer at ConsenSys, you’ll work as part of the design circle, our collective of designers from across the various product ventures at ConsenSys. As a Product Designer at the Bounties Network, you will iterate on existing products and features, and take new ideas from ideation through to implementation, testing our assumptions along the way, and keeping a tight feedback loop with the rest of the team.

As a Product Designer, you will:
  • Participate in a collaborative design process from research and ideation through to implementation: partner with small, global teams of engineers, product managers, and designers to identify user needs and iterate on existing experiences while maintaining a high standard of design.
  • Leverage user-centered design practices to help identify and define problems and opportunities that exist within our products, develop low and high-fidelity UX and visual design to effectively communicate their execution.
  • Collaborate with engineers around the implementation of product work and the maintenance and iteration of our design system and component library.
  • Actively give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise the bar for quality

What we ask for:
  • You have 3-5 years of experience working as a product designer on product teams
  • You have solved complex problems with elegant, shipped product—evidenced in an online portfolio featuring end-to-end product design
  • You demonstrate product vision and use data and experimentation to inform decisions and product direction.
  • You understand and have experience with modular design systems and are able to maintain consistency with existing systems within your work. You know when it’s good idea to rely on existing patterns, and when it’s appropriate to expand the system to accommodate new ones.
  • While you may not have a branding or marketing background, you understand customer experience and the relationship between brand and product design
  • You’re excellent at articulating design decisions, presenting to clients or stakeholders
  • You’re effective at prototyping at varying levels of fidelity
  • You demonstrate solid leadership skills and an ability to develop strong partnerships with product managers and engineers
  • You must be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated

Even better if:
  • You have front-end development experience, and care deeply about writing clean and semantic HTML & CSS
  • You’re interested in or have experience with decentralized applications and blockchain
  • You have experience at both large organizations and start-ups
  • You are comfortable facilitating design thinking workshops, design sprints, or similar collaborative exercises
  • You enjoy some amount of ambiguity and freedom to experiment
