Our Community Circles lives within our Marketing Function and is the glue between our internal teams, partners, and incubating startups, or “Spokes”. The Community Strategist is the liaison between these constituents and the community team, plugging these groups into Community Strategy and larger opportunities being driven by Community, while also working with groups individually to establish community strategy.


  • Partnering with PR, content, social, growth, community and design teams to develop holistic strategies, promote ConsenSys projects and people, and empower spokes and internal teams at conferences and events
  • Creating a set of tools and dashboards for tracking performance and expansion of spoke community efforts across events and online channels
  • Facilitating the creation of holistic community strategies to serve spokes and circles
  • Contributing to action plans and thought leadership strategies for spokes and circles
  • Implementing systems for tracking of all spoke community initiatives
  • Aggregating spoke community data and publishing clear reports
  • Developing relationships with a wide portfolio of clients and personalities
  • Diving into conference and event sponsorship strategy when needed
  • Crafting a holistic marketing strategy and distribution plan for incubated startups alongside growth and product marketing teams:
    • Leading product marketing content across different channels and work with digital team to disseminate assets (web, blog, social media, whitepapers, sales collateral).
    • Driving sales enablement (one-pagers, presentations) and Documentation.
    • Working with a creative agency / design team on brand and asset creation.
    • Creating a PR & conference plan with business development team and with external partners on co-marketing efforts.
  • Working with Partnerships team to identifying business development opportunities for all startups communities.

  • 5-7 years of experience in a community management and/or marketing role with a focus on customer growth strategy.
  • A strong foundation in cross channel marketing strategies and relationship management.
  • Must have excellent listening, verbal and written skills and be highly empathetic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and and the ability to stay calm under pressure and multiple deadlines.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and innate curiosity.
  • Excellent social and networking skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate.

Nice to have:
  • Experience using Discord, Slack and Telegram
  • Technical background, or experience marketing highly technical products

What Makes Someone Successful in this Role?
  • ConsenSys is a decentralized, holacratic (non-hierarchical) company that is distributed across 28 countries - you need to be extremely self directed and self motivated as there is no one telling you what to do, and there are numerous teams you will need to work with to successfully execute your events.
  • Must be comfortable prioritizing and working with multiple teams simultaneously to identify needs and timing.
  • Need to be very open and collaborative. You need to be respectful and conscientious of everyone’s opinions and needs while also ensuring that you are being transparent and including relevant stakeholders in your work.
  • Demonstrated success in taking a service-oriented approach and high level of ownership.
  • Ideally have experience working in a startup environment where you have had to wear many hats at a time (and those hats may change periodically).
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrix environment and being the connective tissue between many different teams and collaborators.
  • Ability to travel 15-30% may be required.
  • You assume good intent from your teammates.
  • Comfortable with a bit of organized chaos :-)
