About Numia:

Numia is a ConsenSys spoke focused on bringing crypto to the mass market. We are building a protocol for large scale consumer payments on the blockchain. At its core, Numia is a multi-module blockchain-based protocol to load, send, pay, and lend cryptocurrencies. Using the protocol you can seamlessly transact day to day transactions on the blockchain. We are product driven and committed to open source. That means our end goal is to the deliver the best and fastest product possible for our users and to do so in a community driven manner.

Numia is looking for an experienced Plasma researcher to help build the application. This is a role for engineers who can collaborate with a team to research and architect an implementation of the Plasma specification proposed by Vitalik and others. This person must be comfortable working in diverse development ecosystems and have worked independently in a rapidly scaling start up, as a researcher for universities or large scale companies.

The ideal candidate will have between 2-5 years of professional experience on Blockchain Development and working on Scalability applications.

Responsibilities:

* Keep up to date with changing Plasma specifications

* Implement and contribute to technical Plasma development

* Challenge the status quo

Requirements:

* Write high quality and secure solidity contracts

* Fluent in Python, GOlang, Java, or Node.js

* Experience analyzing data structures and algorithms and issues related to scale, security and availability

* Proficient with Merkle Trees, Fraud Proofs, RLP, UTXO, Priority Queues

* Understanding of crypto-economic incentivisation

* Database experience: preferably SQL, but noSQL is fine too

* Familiarity with Ethereum/blockchains

* Understanding we are a globally distributed, remote-first team; Comfortable with handling uncertainty and ambiguity
