Community Management at ConsenSys:

The Community team works closely with Marketing, ConsenSys Solutions, ConsenSys Academy and spokes (incubated projects being built on Ethereum), to create an active and engaged community of technologists, entrepreneurs, and product enthusiasts, while positioning ConsenSys as a thought leader in all things blockchain / Ethereum. .

By positioning ConsenSys as a collaborator, educator and seamless part of local communities and ecosystems, the Community team aims to further our mission of building and scaling a world where distributed applications and the Ethereum world computer enable a new class of frictionless, global commerce with inclusion for all.

  • Raise brand awareness by driving community engagement via outreach and education
  • Identify and coordinate programming and events (such as Meetups and hackathons) best aimed at growing our community and increasing the visibility of our developer tools, products and services.
  • Become an ambassador, educator and evangelist for blockchain technology, the Ethereum platform and ConsenSys’ value proposition in Singapore.
  • Work closely with the local team in Singapore to deliver a cohesive and collaborative go-to-ecosystem strategy
  • Identify and execute creative campaigns to increase the visibility of blockchain, Ethereum, and Solidity programming in the developer community.
  • Help develop and market ConsenSys educational programs (such as ConsenSys Academy) to reach, engage, and grow a community of dedicated developers.
  • Develop and manage strong relationships at government agencies, foundations and institutions to expand the community within the country.
  • Build out the community through successful engagement of local corporations, academic institutions, technologists and entrepreneurs in the region.

A successful community manager must be scrappy, self-reliant, and have a knack for understanding what motivates and grows communities, and how to develop B2B and B2C businesses across the blockchain ecosystem.

Required Skills:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a community, product management, marketing, or business development/strategy role.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written skills and be able to communicate effectively to a diversity of constituents with varying degrees of understanding of ConsenSys, blockchain and Ethereum
  • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships with clients at all levels in an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams to make things happen
  • Excellent social and networking skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate
  • Ability to promote the merits of our products internally and externally.
  • A basic understanding of blockchain technology
  • Experience with analytics tools and platforms for measuring success
  • Experience planning and hosting in-person events and meetups to hit strategic goals
  • Exceptional analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills
  • High degree of end-user empathy and ability to envision and understand how they will interact with a blockchain product or service and what will and won’t appeal to them

What Makes Someone Successful at ConsenSys?
  • ConsenSys is a decentralized, holacratic (non-hierarchical) company that is distributed across 28 countries - you need to be extremely self directed and self motivated as there is no one telling you what to do
  • Must be comfortable prioritizing and working with teams to identify needs and timing
  • Need to be very open and collaborative. Must be respectful and conscious of everyone’s opinions and needs while also ensuring personal transparency by including relevant stakeholders in your work
  • Demonstrated success in taking a service-oriented approach and high level of ownership
  • Ideally have experience working in a startup environment where you have had to wear many hats at a time (and those hats may change periodically)
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrix environment and being the connective tissue between many different teams and collaborators
  • Ability to travel 10-20% may be required
  • Comfortable with a bit of organized chaos :-)
