ConsenSys is seeking an experienced Community Manager to create an active and engaged community of blockchain technologists, entrepreneurs, and product enthusiasts in London and the UK, while positioning ConsenSys as a thought leader in all things blockchain / Ethereum.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly develop a strong understanding of blockchain technology, the Ethereum platform and ConsenSys' value proposition and entire suite of products and services, and become an ambassador, educator and evangelist on all of these.

This is a dream opportunity for any blockchain enthusiast who is also experienced in building communities, has worked in digital marketing, social media marketing, and events management!

As the Community Manager, you should ideally have a solid understanding of the blockchain marketplace and competitive landscape. This includes blockchain early adopters, having an understanding of both B2B and B2C applications of blockchain, and/or blockchain for social impact.

If you are already plugged into the blockchain community in London or elsewhere in Ireland, UK or Europe, this would be hugely beneficial!

You will be someone who feels comfortable learning new technologies quickly, frequently testing and iterating on your ideas, and scaling things that work to maximize results.

To be a successful community manager you'll also need to be scrappy, self-reliant, and have a knack for understanding what motivates and grows communities, and how to develop B2B and B2C businesses across the blockchain ecosystem.

The Community Manager will be responsible for:
  • Building out the community through successful engagement of Business, Government, Academic Institutions, Technologists and Entrepreneurs, and the general public in the country.
  • Planning and managing events, conferences and hackathons.
  • Conducting educational webinars, giving interviews to the media, or speaking at conferences and events.
  • Establishing and growing engagement levels through social media or marketing activities.
  • Working in tandem with EMEA Marketing team (e.g. Community, Social, PR, Events, Growth, Design, Video, etc.) and global functional lead based in the US.
  • Partnering with ConsenSys Academy, Blockchain for Social Impact and Campus Engagement teams to facilitate local activities for them.
  • Identifying business development opportunities generated by Community efforts and making appropriate introductions to colleagues in Solutions, Spokes (startups within ConsenSys) or one of ConsenSys’ venture studio companies.
  • Identifying content marketing campaigns (on-site, social, and guest posting), press and communications opportunities for the EMEA circle.
  • Developing and managing strong relationships at government agencies, foundations and institutions to expand the community within Dublin and further afield.
  • Educating regulators on how to oversee blockchain usage/deployments to pave the way for large-scale adoption of blockchain technologies in both the public and private sectors.

Skills Required:
  • 5-8 years of experience in a community management, marketing, or strategy/business development role.
  • Experience planning and hosting in-person events and meetups to hit strategic goals, as well as vetting sponsorships and speaking engagements.
  • Experience creating content that drives engagement and lead generation.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written skills - you must be able to communicate effectively to a diversity of constituents with varying degrees of understanding of ConsenSys, blockchain and Ethereum.
  • Excellent social and networking skills, with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate.
  • Proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships with clients at all levels in an organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and understanding customer business needs.
  • Interested in blockchain technology.
  • Experience with analytics tools and platforms for measuring success.
  • Exceptional analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
  • High degree of end-user empathy and ability to envision and understand how they will interact with a blockchain product or service and what will and won’t appeal to them.
  • Curiosity, open-mindedness, and a positive, can-do attitude.

Bonus Skills:
  • Experience working with Blockchain technology and decentralised systems.
  • Skilled at Google Analytics, Social Media tools, Google docs and drives, Slack, Quip and Zoom.

Additional Info:
  • You should be prepared to travel 10-25+% as required.
