Profile of Position
The Scrum Master and Agile Coach is responsible for the success of multiple non-software focused team, specifically how they incorporate Agile values, principles and processes to produce high-performing teams that behave in an agile manner.. The ideal candidate is driven to deliver and has a proven track record of Agile capability .


As the Scrum Master, you will be assigned to 2-3 Consensys teams e.g. Marketing, Finance or other  within the portfolio and be responsible for ensuring Agile standards and best practices are effectively leveraged. You are focused on performance and have a wide-breadth of experience implementing complex programs that drive business objectives. You must be comfortable balancing multiple team/stakeholder expectations and multiple levels of experience within teams. It’s critical that you understand how to apply Agile theory to the practical matter of getting teams to deliver on their mission, vision and goals using Agile values. We expect that you be able to operate from our top three Agile values:  teamwork, experimentation and empowerment/ownership, when guiding these teams in producing a successful Agile culture.


  • Lead teams to execute Agile processes, structures and values.
  • Coach teams on how to manage and drive Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, release planning, story sizing and clarification, iteration/demo planning, team retrospectives, and daily stand-ups) and quickly address any process-related issues or roadblocks
  • Help teams reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time by facilitating discussions, resolving conflicts, and supporting them throughout the decision-making process
  • Coach teams on how to track and report velocity and manage Sprint capacity
  • Utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc) to identify areas of opportunity and work with teams to continuously improve their processes
  • Guide/conduct experiments both within the start-up teams and around our Agile training methods
  • Constantly grow your knowledge and passion on how different industries have implemented Agile practices effectively across different types of teams, businesses, and organizations
Required Abilities, Skills and Experience
  • Because you will be working in an organization aimed at decentralization, you will need the ability to function in chaos and ambiguity. Yes, these are buzzwords but it’s very real. These organizations are characterized by chaos and ambiguity. They are like that because they are in a race to discover a repeatable and scalable business model.  You must be adept in maneuvering in this type of environment to be successful.
  • Above average emotional intelligence: emotional self-awareness, positive outlook, emotional self-control, adaptability and empathy.

  • Exceptional verbal (powerpoint presentation) and written communication skills (memo, business case, narrative formats)
  • Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, lean, scaled agile) - and how to apply them. Can clearly articulate the differences between waterfall and Agile, as well as SDLC practices that are commonly used in conjunction with Agile.
  • Must demonstrable ability to successfully modify Agile practices as necessary to adapt to circumstances while upholding Agile principles and values.  
  • Can ask pertinent questions on areas of little knowledge or experience.

  • 7 + years experience as a Scrum Master implementing Agile practices
  • Must have a proven track record of successfully implementing and developing Agile teams over the course of their career as a Scrum Master and/or Agile Coach.
  • Clear understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity and task definition etc.
  • Ability to assess, track, drill-down and question team member activities and processes in all functional areas and make sound organizational decisions based upon evidence.
  • Experience working in a remote-first culture and international work environment.
