As an open source technology platform with a goal of making it financially viable and sustainable for independent journalists to make a living developing and expanding independent news, this role’s core function is to champion audience growth opportunities that help increase newsroom and new market visibility.

  • This role is a glue role focused on Reach, Relevance and Newsroom Revenue that works across our Marketplaces and Product team and critical to the adoption of the Civil platform on a macro-scale. You will tackle such challenges as deploying new digital programming and value-add opportunities to grow platform utility and adoption for readers; respond to marketplace growth goals as set by the Newsroom Business Lead; work closely with the data and architecture team to ensure best-in class audience development analytics for newsrooms and more. This role will work closely with the Community and EcoSystem Leads to quickly break open new markets, digitally.

    You are be incredibly hands on, entrepreneurial, and willing to roll up your sleeves whenever necessary. You thrive as a supportive teammate and are ambitious, strategic, analytical, creative, reliable, open-minded, and passionate. You will be part of a growing team and must have an adaptive and ambitious mindset, ready and willing to take on new and bigger challenges daily.

    Required Skills:
    • This role should have 7+ years of audience development, partnership and/or social marketing experience at a high volume or multi-vertical publisher or platform, with a STRONG interest in marketplace economies.
    • Strong data and analytical skills
    • Proven ability to attract audiences to new business lines and iterate on consumer needs for sustained growth
