The Role
ConsenSys MENA is one of ConsenSys’ fastest growing operations globally and we are looking for a Partner to help scale our Dubai-based operations as we continue to grow in the region, in conjunction with our regional leadership.

Our focus is on Solutions: providing advice, products and services to government and corporate organizations who are seeking the benefits of blockchain adoption. However, our ambitions are much broader than this: MENA is one of the fastest growing regions globally and Dubai and the UAE are a key gateway to providing financial services and the development of other homegrown products to the rest of the region.

Our venture studio model enables the productization of use cases that we co-develop with customers, and we will look to establish this model in the region, while also promoting Ethereum & blockchain adoption broadly. We are proud to have been appointed ‘Blockchain City Advisor’ to the Smart Dubai Office and look to leverage this success across the region.

We believe in diversity and expect candidates ranging from software executives through management consulting partners (focused on technology or digital transformation) or prior CEOs/country managers from rapidly scaling startups being successful in this role.

This MD will be responsible for:

Leadership
  • Develop and drive the regional vision, strategy, and corresponding business plan for the Dubai office
  • Show strategic vision and awareness to allow for re-navigation and nimble decision making to seize opportunities
  • Driving the mission throughout the region by demonstrating clear visionary leadership qualities
  • Coach and develop the leaders of the regional circles and embrace differences and needs to achieve outstanding results
  • Provide expertise and mentorship in relation to the development of outstanding execution for our clients
  • Be a thought leader who really makes people stop and listen
  • Contribute to the ecosystem by sharing and publishing key insights and groundbreaking strategies
  • Co-create with those externally we admire
  • Represent Consensys with conviction and ease and encourage others to do the same
  • Demonstrate our meshy leadership style as a role model
  • Lead from the front and ensure overarching management of the full operation

Global
  • Not only represent the MEA region within the mesh but drive change and movement throughout the mesh
  • Bring cadence and motion to drive delivery, by simplifying and removing the noise
  • Think globally, and act and tailor for regional implementation
  • Collaborate with Global Leadership circles
  • Create, empower, embrace, be likable

Client Liaison
  • Developing mission critical relationships with dignitaries and people of influence to allow penetration of markets of interest
  • Formulate tailored relationship management strategies in order to pave the way for showcasing and demonstrating the tools we will develop through labs

Solutions & Delivery
  • O verseeing consulting teams and program/project managers, ranging from use case ideation, business impact, proof-of-concept development and production application development
  • Manage business development for solutions and products, in conjunction with other professionals and leaders in the office
  • Engagement planning, staffing, quality, and execution
  • Maintaining excellence in client satisfaction and relationship management
  • Overseeing and contributing to pipeline and resource planning

Ops
  • Collaborate with Hub Ops and Expansion
  • Work closely with internal circles to bring to life the Labs culture in the MENA region
  • Build our brand - how will we be known for our venture production and dApp excellence in this market?
  • Take the spoke capabilities and spread them throughout the region
  • Help drive the internal creativity and remove blockages to allow the capacity to build great new products

People & Talent
  • Collaborate with People & Talent to build an effective organisational structure and working model for a healthy balanced dynamic, and to support the internal development of meaningful careers.
  • Work closely with the People & Talent Circles to heavily impact the talent acquisition and development strategies for MENA
  • An ambassador of driving the culture of our world internally and externally, to support the development of our employer brand in the region
  • Contribute greatly to why this is a great place to work
  • Be visible, open and available to all members - building strong relationships
  • Support the People & Talent circle to gain buy in for key strategic initiatives which will impact the People Agenda and the employee experience
  • Engage with regional Education alumni to support the efforts of a world class Graduate Program in MENA

Education & Community
  • Elevate the community through Education and knowledge availability to evolve the ecosystem in MENA
  • Open the minds of our communities by enabling outreach programs via the MENA team
  • Share insights with the Marketing and Community circles to develop their understanding of the region to ensure succinct and clear messaging

Qualifications & Experience
  • Significant experience developing and executing strategy for technology companies, including go-to-market approaches for solutions and/or products, notably in early and rapidly growing markets
  • Experience at a rapidly scaling enterprise technology company, tier 1 management consultancy (focused on technology) or a successful track record in venture capital
  • Extensive experience in the region and a demonstrated mastery of local commercial customs and culture, ideally in both the private and public sector
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and drive conversations at the executive level, including the ability to convey emerging trends, recommendations, and business value propositions
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying business development opportunities, qualifying potential opportunities and winning and negotiating complex deals
  • Demonstrated ability to understand client needs, translate business needs into requirements, develop proposed solutions, and deliver high impact change initiatives
  • Demonstrated passion for entrepreneurship and/or disruptive technology
  • Project management experience including: defining scope, setting project timelines and milestones, driving deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, project economics, and client relationship management
  • Significant experience managing large teams (at least 10 resources) through complex situations, adapting quickly and helping others navigate change
  • Demonstrated experience structuring activities that play to a team's strengths and providing opportunities for others to grow
  • Demonstrated comfort conveying both high-level and detailed information, adjusting the way ideas are presented to better address varying social styles and audiences
  • Proven ability to challenge a client's thinking by diplomatically providing an objective and independent point of view
  • Significant experience working through organizational change, developing and implementing creative solutions and closely partnering with clients to regularly confirm expectations are met and value delivered

Preferred Qualifications
  • 10-15 years experience in management consulting in a technology/digital practice (McKinsey, Bain, BCG), consulting for a large technology company (Accenture, IBM), or the enterprise group at a large scale technology company (Google, Cloudera, Workday)
  • Demonstrated excellence in leading team environments with a flat culture
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile
  • Familiarity with SaaS or custom development business models is a plus
